Sources have disclosed that the Norwegian’s next destination is likely to be announced in the next fortnight.

Last month, this newspaper revealed that the striker had discussed personal terms with City and that the Premier League champions were willing to pay him in excess of £500,000 a week, which would make him the country’s highest earner.

Haaland has a £63million release clause in his Dortmund contract, and his agent, Mino Raiola, is also set to cash in with a huge bonus along with the player’s father, former City midfielder Alf-Inge.

In total, the deal for Haaland is likely to be close to £100m.
