In an unseen moment from the show released on Thursday, the television presenter, 46, is shown standing next to co-host Declan Donnelly at the side of the stage as an act performs for the judges with a large number of the fruit set out on some tables.

Clearly in a mischievous mood, Ant grabs a coconut and tries to crack it open with his bare hands before smashing it against his forehead, with Dec, 46, pointing out blood had appeared on his skin before calling a medic in for help.

Looking at his bandage, Dec joked to Ant: ‘I tell you what though, you might be able to do it now. You’ve got some padding!’

Ant hit back: ‘I won’t be able to do it now! That will open the wound, that will!’

The comedian, 50, made a cheeky jibe about his fellow judge, 62, looking like a ‘grandad’ in the audition rounds of the talent show in January, according to The Sun.

But it appeared David, who is known for taunting Simon, went too far when he made the joke at Simon’s expense while talking to dance troupe Born to Perform.

He reportedly quipped: ‘Are you a fan of Simon Cowell? Does he look like your grandad?’

It is understood Simon cut David’s jibe from the final edit of the episode, which aired on Saturday night.

A TV source told The Sun that Simon did not appear offended when the joke was first made, adding: ‘It’s odd the joke was taken out of the final cut as David has made far cheekier gags about Simon and they’ve stayed in.’

MailOnline contacted Britain’s Got Talent, Simon Cowell and David Walliams’ representatives for comment.

David often makes jibes at Simon’s expense on the show and the pair are known for their on-screen repartee.

Simon recently hit back at a joke David made about his ‘gastric band’ as he cheekily suggested that the funnyman has had a hair transplant.

The music mogul spat back at the show panellist’s previous remarks by making a subtle dig, suggesting David had received the procedure.

In an interview with The Mirror, Simon was asked if the judges had changed over 10 years on the ITV talent show.

He replied: ‘Actually, everyone seems to look identical to when we started. David seems to have more hair, funny that. Maybe he’s got a new hairdresser.’

David – who is known for taunting Simon – admitted that fans enjoy his cheeky remarks directed at his fellow judge.

‘Every single day when someone recognises me on the street, they say, ‘Oh, we love it when you have a go at Simon’,’ he said.

‘It seems to be the key thing people really like… so if I didn’t give him a hard time, I think people would be disappointed.’
