During the clip, Christy can be heard saying: ‘Oh what a brat! He’s so proud of himself too.’

Liam’s ’embarrassed’ owner Mallory Triplett-Schrattenholzer accidently unclipped his collar allowing the naughty pooch to zoom around the gymnasium.

After causing a scene, Liam did not win his group for non-professional handlers, but he did gain a placement in another group.

In a post on Facebook, Mallory said: ‘Was this humiliating? Absolutely! Was I upset or mad? Nope! It was my fault, I accidentally hit the clip and it popped off his collar.

‘I can honestly say this is not the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m just most grateful that people hurried to shut all the doors.

‘I was trying so hard to think about how to get him back, my brain went stupid! Lesson learned, different lead for the rest of his life! And yes, I still love the little bugger! He had a glorious time!’

The video, captioned ‘If the shows not going your way make your own show!’ and shared on TikTok, has more than 1.8million views and 213,000 likes.

Today Mallory told MailOnline: ‘I can’t believe the response we got on this video.

‘I half figured it would be seen by a few others who show dogs, they’d make fun of me and life would go on.

‘This is beyond my wildest imagination. The best part is, what you see is how he really is.
