Barcelona have held a summit with agent Jorge Mendes to discuss the future of three players – Adama Traore, Francisco Trincao and Nico Gonzalez.

Mendes met Barcelona president Joan Laporta, vice-president Rafa Yuste and director of football Mateu Alemany at the Via Veneto restaurant in the city on Thursday evening.

All three players are represented by Mendes and, according to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo, the dinner table conversation focused around the next stages in their careers.

Traore, 26, is on loan at Barcelona from Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers and the deal includes an option to buy the winger for nothing in the summer.

However, Traore hasn’t made the biggest impression during his loan spell and has failed to score in 15 matches so far. The Spain international has, however, contributed four assists.

The return of Ousmane Dembele to the side has limited Traore’s opportunities and there are doubts over whether Barcelona will make the move permanent, something Mendes doubtless wanted to divine.

Trincao, 22, went the other way last summer, joining Wolves on a season-long loan. There is also a non-mandatory purchase option in the terms of the winger’s contract.

He has scored twice and contributed one assist in 27 matches for the Molineux club so far this season.

Midfielder Nico, 20, is another Mendes client and a product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy. He has played 37 games for Barcelona this season, scoring twice, having been elevated from the B team.

Although he has a contract until 2024, there is interest from several European clubs and Mendes no doubt wanted to scope out Barcelona’s long-term plans for the youngster.

Barcelona, who are second in the LaLiga table, will be hoping to return to winning ways when they host Real Mallorca on Sunday night.

They have lost their last three home matches – 3-2 to Eintracht Frankfurt to seal their exit from the Europa League, plus 1-0 league losses to Cadiz and Rayo Vallecano.
