An incredible riverside jungle house, an uber-chic modern apartment and a stylish mansion with its own bar have been named among the best in the Australia.
The Housing Industry Association has held its annual awards, unveiling the most stunning homes in the country.
The HIA also scoured the best new homes across Australia for the most magnificent kitchens and bathrooms with two outstanding designs earning the prize.
‘The workmanship of award winners is exceptional; demonstrated in projects that push the boundaries in design and innovation,’ HIA’s Managing Director Graham Wolfe said.

Australian Home of the Year – Queensland
Taking out the top gong, is a spectacular vine covered house with an understated façade that hides behind it a luxurious high-end pad with all the trimmings.
The Queensland home, which backs onto the riverbank, was completed by Sunshine Coast builders JW Constructions and also won the award for best custom built home.
Downstairs a rumpus room features a huge window that looks into the pool below the water’s surface as well as a glass-encased temperature-controlled wine cellar.
A window wall and expansive glass sliding doors blend the inside and outside areas seamlessly and lush vines drape from the second storey garden over the pool and alfresco patio will make guests feel like they’re at a jungle retreat.
Judges were captivated by the ‘outstanding’ home’s ‘flawless’ workmanship and the quality of its finishes and construction.

People’s Choice Home – Victoria
Home design lovers voted this three-level architectural masterpiece as their favourite home of the year through Houzz Australia and it’s not hard to see why.
The Victorian home built by Below Property Group has a striking angular design making it an eye-catching addition to the suburban Melbourne street it sits on as well as a uniquely curved bathtub in the monochrome ensuite.
It has its own bar that looks like something out of a high end restaurant with a marble-look bench, custom mood lighting, gold details, luxe palm tree wallpaper.

Victoria was represented a second time in the winner’s list with a contemporary apartment by BCG Constructions that oozes luxury and sophistication.
It has a sleek gallery-like interior with textures of marble, European oak chevron timber flooring, a monochrome palette, high ceilings and bespoke joinery.
Judges said the stylish flat is ‘ideal for the most discerning residents’ because of its ‘commitment to quality’, ‘luxurious appointments and meticulous attention to detail’.

An extravagant mansion in the riverside Perth suburb Applecross was awarded the accolade for best outdoor project thanks to its palatial multi-level alfresco and pool space.
Featuring an outdoor kitchen and home theatre, pool house, private roof garden, and curved-wall infinity-edge pool looking out over the river, the impressive space was constructed by Averna Homes.
Judges remarked on the ‘well thought-out, connected and creative design elements’ and were impressed by the quality, customer detailing of the one-of-a-kind tiered outdoor space.
