Hidden in The Star Sydney lies a charming tea room, G&Tea, that transforms into a glamorous gin bar at night – and they have just launched a new high tea menu for the cooler months. 

The gorgeous space offers over 25 different types of tea, ranging from the classic to the very rare. The tea room hosts their high tea from midday to 4pm Thursdays through Sundays.

G&Tea’s $55 high tea menu kicks off with scones before serving up a selection of sweet and savoury treats.

G&Tea’s menu also features several of Australia’s finest gin cocktails such as a G&Tea Martini with grown botanica gin, noilly prat, and lishan tea.

The cafe is also home to a great selection of savoury food, including smoked salmon, cream cheese, and fennel and orange on rye.

Other special dishes like cajun prawn remoulade with charred lemon served on a brioche bun are also available.

But G&Tea’s decadent selection of sweet treats is equally as appealing. 

The freshly-baked scones with house-made jam and chantilly cream is every sweet tooth’s dream – and the vanilla bean pannacotta topped with gin-infused rhubarb and raspberry is a G&Tea specialty.

Come night time, the exemplary range of gin-focused cocktails on offer ranges from tea martinis through to the Hummingbird Splice – which combines gin, frangelico, pineapple, and lime.

Some of the tea-tails include a green tea mojito with Jing peppermint tea, Tanqueray, basil seeds, soda water, mint – and tea tini with Jing green apple hibiscus tea, ink gin, vermouth, lemon peels.

‘I went there a few weeks ago and I miss those scrumptious cakes already,’ said one woman.

‘This place is a great escape from the bustle of life, it’s so pretty!’

A third added, ‘I celebrated my birthday at G&Tea with their heavenly tower of delicate sweet treats – I’m almost thinking of making it a yearly tradition.’
