Australian Fashion Week: Nadia Fairfax wears $380 gold ‘witch sandals’

Are these Australian Fashion Week’s ugliest shoes? Socialite Nadia Fairfax wears a pair of gold ‘witch sandals’ in the front row – and you won’t believe the price tag

Nadia Fairfax-Wayne rarely puts a foot wrong in the style stakes.

But the glamorous socialite, 33, raised eyebrows in the front row as she attended day one of Australian Fashion Week in Sydney on Monday.

Nadia, who was seated next to Aussie Home Loans heiress Deborah Symond O’Neil and publicist Montarna Pitt, wore a pair of $380 gold ‘witch sandals’ from Datt.

The funky shoes had a huge open-toe design that stretched far beyond her actual foot.

Fashionista Nadia, who is well known in Sydney’s elite social circles, was fortunately able to get the rest of her outfit right.

She teamed a sleeveless red top with long beige pants, which sat perfectly on her sensational figure.

Her main accessory was a neon green Valentino mini-bag, worth about $4,600.

Australian Fashion Week, which began on Monday and runs until May 13, brings together the biggest names in fashion at Carriageworks in Eveleigh, Sydney.

It comes a week after Nadia celebrated her 33rd birthday with a star-studded party at the trendy Four Pillars Gin Laboratory in Surry Hills.

The ‘It girl’ stunned in a royal blue mini dress covered in rhinestone tassels, which was custom-made by Australian designer Kourh.

She completed her look with strappy pink stilettos and a rhinestone-encrusted Prada handbag, worth $3,000.

‘I have a blue house with a blue window. Blue is the colour of all that I wear,’ she wrote on Instagram, a reference to the Eiffel 65 song I’m Blue.

Nadia’s high-society friends, including fashion PR maven Montarna Pitt and celebrity stylist Elliot Garnaut, were all in attendance.

Last year, Nadia was given a slap on the wrist by Ad Standards for failing to properly disclose that one of her Instagram posts was a paid advert.
