‘Can you really revive stale bread?’ Katie asked her 160k+ Instagram followers.

She added, ‘I’m talking… other than using it for breadcrumbs, French toast, or freezing it.’

But Katie was quick to answer her own question. ‘YES,’ she wrote. ‘You can!’

However, Katie was quick to warn viewers against attempting the hack on bread that has gathered mould.

‘Let’s just be clear though,’ she captioned her post. ‘Bread that’s mouldy is beyond salvaging.’

She added, ‘Throw it in your compost it and move on.’

‘This works for all types of bread – rolls, scones, sourdough,’ she clarified in the comments.

The hack is also perfect for those who are just a little absentminded and helps with avoiding food wastage.

A third added, ‘This is a brilliant trick. I always think of doing something with my slightly stale bread but I hate French toast, but this is perfect.’

‘I’m so glad I saw this before throwing a whole loaf of bread away.’

‘If you cut it up and add some butter and chopped garlic before you put it in the oven … DIY garlic bread!’
