Former England captain Wayne Rooney,36, has taken to the stand for the first time at the Wagatha Christie trail between his wife Coleen Rooney, 36, and Rebekah Vardy, 40.
Twitter users have been reacting to Manchester United’s all-time highest goal scorer giving evidence today at London’s High Court.
So far he has described the awkward moment when he spoke to Jamie Vardy during the Euros in 2016, he asked the Leicester forward to ask his wife to ‘calm down’.
Many followers of the case have poked fun and created memes on Rooney’s bearded appearance, likening him to Henry VIII.

Buttkist Popcorn posted ‘Here for #WagathaChristie’ alongside a picture of a photoshopped courtroom illustration showing a lawyer and the jury all eating popcorn as they watch the trial.
While other joked about the striker spending more time in the box than he had throughout his career footballing career.
Toby Tarrant tweeted: ‘Normally after 20 minutes of getting no service he’d drop deep and come looking for the ball’.
Many users argued over who his court sketch looked like.
Rooney appeared to have not been following the drama like many Twitter users, having said he didn’t read newspapers, and had been totally unaware that his wife was attempting to conduct a sting operation.
He said: ‘Me sitting in this courtroom is the first time I’m hearing almost everything on this case.
‘This week is really the first time I’ve had any understanding of what happened.’
