Little girl who dresses up as the Queen is not amused on This Morning

A three-year-old who is Britain’s youngest royal superfan, according to her mother, was royally unimpressed during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning.

Alex Fairhurst, who lives in Wigan, told presenter Alison Hammond that her three-year-old daughter Isla Bates has been touring care homes dressed up as the Queen to celebrate the monarch’s Jubilee.

She said the toddler makes ‘everybody smile and laugh’, while claiming Isla loves it and ‘likes all the attention’.

But Isla seemed less than enthused with being on TV and when asked to do a royal wave, she instead swung her toy corgi around by the tail, after ignoring Alison’s questions.

While viewers loved Isla’s antics, some claimed Alex was making her dress up to get ‘five seconds of fame’.

The segment began with Alison claiming that while Holly Willoughby and Philip Scofield were broadcasting from Buckingham Palace, she felt like she was ‘in the presence of royalty’ thanks to her young guest.

Alison said: ‘How are you doing Isla? Are you alright? You look absolutely beautiful and you’re dressed up as the Queen aren’t you?’

When Isla didn’t respond, Alison continued: ‘Are you dressed up as the Queen?’

Isla nodded slowly before responding that she likes pears and pulled her pearl necklace over her face.

Laughing, Alex said: ‘My mum saw a toddler in America dressed up as the Queen for Halloween, sent it to me beginning of this year.

‘We decided, let’s do it with Isla and link it with the Jubilee.’

‘Is she absolutely loving it?,’ Alison asked.

Alex said: ‘She is. She likes all of the attention.

‘I’m the recruitment lead at Newcare so we’ve been to eight of our homes across England. We’ve got two more left tomorrow.’

Talking to Isla, Alison said: ‘What do you liked best about going on tour and seeing all the old people and staff? What do you love about it Isla?’

‘You like the parties don’t you and the digging of the trees. You like planting the trees don’t you?,’ Alex said.

‘The Queen’s green canopy – we’ve been planting the trees to make a difference to the environment for the long lasting legacy of the Queen.’

Alex claimed everyone’s reaction to Isla dressed up as the Queen has been ‘outstanding’ and she has made ‘everybody smile and laugh.’

Seemingly uninterested, Isla began swinging a toy corgi and ignoring Alison’s request to demonstrate her royal wave.

‘Everybody has been overwhelmed to be part of our journey and I think it will be one to remember,’ Alex added.

Alison suggested that Isla wasn’t willing to show her royal wave because she’s ‘star struck’ as she continued to speak to Alex about their visit to Buckingham Palace.

Alex said: ‘It was amazing, but we couldn’t get as close as we wanted to. Isla really wanted to go inside which we couldn’t do.’

Alison told Isla to sit next to her and lifted her back onto the sofa as she playfully asked, ‘Is Isla there though? Is Isla under there? Where is Isla? Is she under there?’

Isla lifted her hat and wig off as Alex laughed.

Alison said: ‘There she is, there’s our Isla. Hiya lovely. Why do you like being the Queen Isla?’

Isla responded: ‘I’m chopping my hair off.’

‘I want to do that now,’ Isla said, while getting up from the sofa and walking towards the table containing afternoon tea.

Alex tried to convince Isla to sit back down and show her wave, however the toddler began throwing herself back and forth on the sofa.

Alison told Isla to pour some orange juice from the tea pot as she revealed a hamper filled with royal souvenirs including tickets for a guided tour at Buckingham Palace in the summer.

‘Does that sound good Isla?,’ Alison asked, as the three-year-old continued to rip open the boxes in the hamper.

‘Isla, we’re going to go to the palace properly,’ Alex laughed as she thanked Alison.

The mother added that her grandfather is a veteran and has always wanted to be apart of anything royal.

A flood of viewers took to Twitter amused by Isla’s lack of interest throughout the segment.

One person wrote: ‘Might as well have dragged a random kid in off the street & dressed her up as the Queen. This one isn’t interested.’

Another said: ‘Isla has no idea who the Queen is, she doesn’t give a crap. Reckon she was about a minute away from trashing the place’

Many commenters praised Alison for continuing the segment, despite Isla seeming uninterested throughout

Many commenters praised Alison for continuing the segment, despite Isla seeming uninterested throughout

A third commented: ‘She doesn’t care, she just wans to see what’s in the basket’

A fourth added: ‘Poor Alison, that was painful. Don’t know if the girl or mum was more uninterested.’

Others blasted Alex, with one writing: ‘Kid doesn’t want to be dressed as the Queen. Pushy parent.’

‘Well Isla couldn’t give a toss, didn’t even hear a thank you for any of that what Alison gave her. Perhaps mum should push more for manners rather than being the Queen’s ‘super fan’,’ another said.

A third added: ‘Isla’s going to need answers when she realises what her mom put her through just to get 5 secs of fame. I have a toddler and would never do this. Poor kid.’

Other viewers accused Alex of dressing Isla up as the Queen for fame and were unimpressed that the three-year-old didn't say 'thankyou' for the hamper
