Everton have released an update on their huge new £500million stadium at Bramley-Moore dock.

The 53,000-seater ground on the banks of the River Mersey will replace Goodison Park as the club’s home after more than 130 years at the historic stadium, with work expected to be completed ahead of the 2024-25 season.

And eye-catching aerial footage shows the latest major developments, with steelwork arriving on site this week as construction continues.

The video is captioned: ‘Taking to the skies for your latest aerial update of the progress at our new stadium site!’ with a flying and heart-eyes emoji.

The footage, presumably from a drone, shows staircases installed on the north-eastern corner, new offices being installed to prepare for the increased workforce and prep work continuing across the development site.

A statement on the club’s website reads: ‘Our spectacular footage clearly shows the stairwells now installed in the northern corners. These two concrete elevations are now at their full, 25m height, with the southern corners not far behind.

‘The overall stadium height will eventually rise to around 47m when the steelwork and roofing eventually engulf them. New offices can be seen during installation on the south-east edge, in preparation for workforce numbers rising rapidly.

‘And stunning views taken from the River Mersey offer a cruise liner’s view of the development, notably looking at the western elevation, which will eventually house a stepped terrace facing the waterfront.’

Everton just about avoided relegation from the Premier League, finishing in 16th on 39 points, with fears relegation would have massively hindered the finances of the continuing plans for the new stadium.
