England fans will have their passports confiscated by UK authorities amid the threat of violent outbreaks ahead of England’s clash in Germany next month.
The passports of 880 supporters who have a history of committing football-related crimes must be handed over in the days leading up to the Nations League clash in Munich on June 7, the day after the anniversary of D-Day, to ensure they cannot travel to Germany.
There are significant fears that the match could be disputed by misbehaviour, given historical tensions between the supporters.

The FA have sold 3,466 tickets and travelling fans will receive messages from the governing body insisting on the need to behave in Munich, particularly with the threat of a second stadium ban looming over Gareth Southgate’s side.
Following the clash with Germany, England host Italy in front of an empty Molineux after the FA were given a one-game sanction for the disorder that marred the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley.
On Tuesday, Southgate described the stadium ban as an ‘embarrassment’ and the FA can ill-afford further trouble.
No alcohol will be served in the stadium and 12 stewards from Wembley are making the journey to Munich, along with six police spotters, and up to four intelligence officers.
