Comedian and podcaster Joe Rogan joked about the quality of Amber Heard’s lawyers amid her ongoing legal battle with her former husband, Johnny Depp.
Depp, 58, is suing Heard, 36, in a Virginia court for defamation following an op-ed that she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018 in which the actress spoke about being a victim of domestic abuse. Heard did not mention Depp by name in the piece.
The ‘Sweeney Todd’ star is suing Heard for $50 million while she is countersuing for $100 million.
On the May 26 edition of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ Rogan joked with his guest, computer scientist Lex Fridman, that it looked as though Heard got her legal team from Craigslist.

Rogan and Fridman were joking about the performance on the stand of Heard’s team’s expert witness, psychiatrist Dr. David Spiegel.
Rogan joked: ‘I hope that Johnny Depp plays him in a movie. Somebody wrote in the comments that he feels like — a patient who escaped from an insane asylum and is pretending to be a psychiatrist.’
He said: ‘That’s probably all she could afford. Her f*****g lawyers are terrible. She probably found ’em on Craigslist.’
Rogan continued: ‘They don’t make any sense. Their questions are terrible. They’re so ill prepared. But also — what are they dealing with? Like what are they dealing with? They’re dealing with someone who’s a clear sociopath, a clear liar.’
The podcaster took aim directly at Heard saying: ‘The way she like turns like, she answers the question and looks to the jury and answers them. Like she’s doing a little show for them. Like — she’s nuts!’
Dr. Spiegel told the court during his appearance on the stand that Depp: ‘has behaviors that are consistent with someone that both has substance-use disorder as well as behaviors of someone who is a perpetrator of intimate-partner violence.’

In cross examination, Depp’s lawyers asked how the shrink could come to that conclusion without having spent any time with the actor.
The doctor responded by saying that psychiatrists offer opinions all the time on patients that they haven’t met.
Following his appearance on the stand, Dr. Spiegel’s WebMD page was flooded with negative reviews, reports NBC News.
Earlier in the episode, Rogan expressed his desire that Depp fall in love, and get sober, with his attorney, Camille Vasquez.’
Rogan agreed when his guest said: ‘It seems like Johnny Depp’s lawyers are really good.’
The jury in the defamation lawsuit between Depp and Heard are expected to resume deliberations on May 31

Fridman then wondered if the quality of his legal team was related to money asking: ‘Do you have to pay a lot more for that kind of quality?’
Rogan turned it around to talk about Depp’s attorney saying: ‘That Camille Vasquez. That lady’s a gangster. She’s amazing. I hope Johnny and her fall in love.’
He continued: ‘That’s what I hope. I hope after this trial’s over, they go out to dinner and he thanks her, and then they fall in love and he gets sober.’
Fridman told Rogan in a mocking tone: ‘Look at you. You’re such a sweetheart romantic.’

Rogan speculated that Vasquez and Depp were both in love with each other. He added that Vasquez ‘hates’ Amber Heard because the ‘Aquaman’ star ‘hurt’ Depp.
When Rogan’s producer, Jamie Vernon, chimed in to say that Vasquez was in a relationship with another man. Rogan was undeterred saying: ‘Oh, well f**k that guy. He doesn’t have a chance against Johnny Depp. Jesus Christ. Step aside, sir!’
Rogan added: ‘F**k him and his accent. There’s other fish in the sea, sir. Move along; This is greater than you.’
Vernon said that Vasquez’s boyfriend is from the United Kingdom. The identity of Vasquez’s partner has not been made public.
Rogan also apologized for previously referring to Vasquez as ‘Claire’ in a previous episode.
The Johnny Depp/Amber Heard legal drama has previously been a topic on Rogan’s show.

Rogan joked about what he felt were Depp’s chances of winning his case, and the actor being fired from the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise when Heard’s article was first published.
He said: ‘This is a big win for Johnny Depp. And a big loss for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean!’ … You got rid of the best f*****g pirate you ever had! For a crazy lady!’
Rogan has also said that Depp is a ‘nice guy’ after revealing that he spoke to the actor once on the phone.

As the verdict in Depp and Heard’s trial looms, the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ star shocked fans by showing up on stage to accompany Jeff Beck at two concert dates in the United Kingdom over the Memorial Day weekend.
Depp appeared with Beck in Sheffield City Hall in Sheffield, England, and the following night at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The jury in the lawsuit will resume their deliberations in the case on May 31 after the holiday weekend.
