An 18-year-old man and a 14-year-old schoolboy have been arrested after two teenagers were stabbed this afternoon.

The pair were arrested after two boys, aged 16 and 15, were found with knife wounds in Smethwick, West Midlands. 

Police said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Robert Oughton, who witnessed the dramatic scenes, said three different parts of Victoria Park had been sectioned off.

He said: ‘There is a blood stain on the grass.’

West Midlands Police has urged anybody with information to come forward.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘Two people have been arrested after a stabbing at Victoria Park in Smethwick this afternoon. 

‘We were called just after 4.10pm today and found two boys, aged 16 and 15, had suffered injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

‘An 18-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and will be questioned in due course. 

‘Anyone with information has been asked to get in touch via Live Chat, quoting log 2603 of June 7.’
