Tullio Tinti, who represents both Bastoni and Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi, met with the club’s directors.

The agent spoke to reporters on his way out of the Inter Milan’s headquarters and dealt a major blow to both of the Premier League club’s.

‘Bastoni will certainly remain at Inter,’ Tinti told reporters via Football Italia.

‘He has a contract with Inter, he is happy to play at Inter and there’s no problem.’

There has also been speculation around the centre-back agreeing to potential an improved longer-term deal at Inter.

Tinti added: ‘I respect contracts. If they call me, there’s no problem.’

The centre-back has also further committed his further to Inter by liking his agent’s tweet claiming that he will stay at the club.

Inter signed Bastoni for £31m from Atalanta back in 2017, loaned him back, then loaned him to Parma, before giving him a chance in their own first-team.

The 23-year-old has since developed into a key player for the club and was instrumental in their Scudetto victory under Antonio Conte in 2020/21.

If Bastoni was to leave, Tottenham would seem to be the obvious choice for the defender, given his existing relationship with the manager and the guarantee of Champions League football next season.

While United are going through a total rebuild over the upcoming months following a woeful season and the arrival of new manager ten Hag.
