Jedrzejczyk’s face was swollen after her first epic fight and she plans on taking more care
She told MMA Fighting: ‘I’m a real warrior when I step into the octagon. I take this fight, but I know that I have more tools, and I can be better and more smarter fighter in the octagon during the fight, so I don’t need to exchange only and get this damage. I just need to be more smarter with using my tools, and I will do that this time.
‘Weili Zhang scored most of her punches when she was countering with her cross, with her right hand,” Jedrzejczyk said. “We have to make some adjustments and we’re going to be fine.
‘I was standing too much in front of her. I was working on moving more before that fight but like I said, I’m a warrior. I took the fight [to her], I went into the battle, into the war and we are going back and forth.
Zhang became the champion but has since been dethroned by Rose Namajunas
‘I know what I did so many mistakes and what mistakes I made in this fight,’ Jedrzejczyk said.
‘I’m just looking forward. I’m just proud of myself. I want to keep on winning. I want to win my next fight, I want to keep on winning and fight for the UFC strawweight belt.’
Weili has lost twice against Rose Namajunas since the first fight with Jedrzejczyk and victory would be huge for both women.
Dana White has cooled on the idea of moving into boxing promotion and said it is a ‘nightmare’
Dana White has confirmed that the winner will be given a title shot against Carla Esparza, who beat Namajunas in one of the worst title clashes in recent memory.
‘I’m sure [Esparza] will be watching this Saturday closely and will be ready to roll with whoever wins,’ the UFC president said.
‘I don’t know how you top the first fight, to even put that kind of pressure on the fight itself. But they’re both absolute savages. It should be a great fight.
