Quirky boutique hotel chain QT has expanded to Newcastle and launched the ‘job of a lifetime’ for one lucky candidate.
QT is searching for its first connoisseur to essentially sleep on the job, taste test their way through the hotel and throw theatrically flamboyant rooftop parties.
While they won’t be paid a salary, they will enjoy countless luxurious experiences free of charge including taste testing the hotel’s luxurious seasonal menu, inspecting the distinctive rooms during an overnight stay at The Clock Suite and hosting a rooftop party for 40 people.
The successful candidate will undoubtedly need to express their flair, style and flex their tastebuds to celestial heights.
The extravagant ‘tasks’ pay for themselves and can be experienced throughout the year if desired.

In true QT form, no two rooms are the same, and so the QT Connoisseur will have the opportunity to takeover an entire floor of the hotel to ensure ten rooms pass a ‘vibe check’.
The chosen candidate will enjoy insider access to the Japanese inspired menu and their pick of theatrically flared cocktails created with QT’s Ordered Chaos Gin created in partnership with Four Pillars.
Boasting the largest whisky collection in Newcastle, the QT Connoisseur will have the opportunity to taste test the rarest whisky in the city flown directly from Japan.
Duties include but aren’t limited to taste testing the hotel’s luxurious seasonal menu and inspect the distinctive rooms
After a long working day of eating, the connoisseur will sleep on the job – which has been dubbed the ‘most important’ part of the role.
Swamp the party pants with pajamas and sink into a lavishly oversized bathtub before falling asleep on a relaxing QT dream bed.
