Mum-of-three shares exactly how she transformed her rundown kitchen with cream cabinetry into a sleek and stylish modern room in eight weeks

An Aussie mum-of-three has impressed hundreds online after after renovating her outdated kitchen and transforming it into a stunning new version.
Rhiannon and her family, from Sydney, moved into their home three years ago but she and her husband started the huge renovation in January.
Sharing before and after images on Facebook, the kitchen was originally rundown and almost ‘unusable’.
It was transformed into a stylish modern version featuring black cabinetry, a white island bench and floorboards.

The space was in dire need of an upgrade and the pair opted for a chic black and white style.
During the build the laundry was used as a makeshift kitchen for eight weeks while the original kitchen was demolished.
‘We connected the dishwasher to the (cold) laundry tap with a y-piece from Bunnings,’ Rhiannon wrote on Facebook.
‘Whatever I didn’t think I’d use, I boxed up. The fridge unfortunately had to stay outside.’
This was the couple’s first large renovation and they were conscious about cost, layout and services used to bring their vision to life.
For food, Rhiannon would usually bulk cook dishes at her mum’s house then pop them in the freezer, or use microwavable meals.

Local professional tradesmen were hired to assist with the renovation and the cabinets and tiles were removed
‘We were being price conscious, so we kept a very similar layout to keep services in the same spot,’ Rhiannon wrote online.
‘We reduced the stone to 20mm and chose a design from the “basics” range. Price matched appliances and bought in on transaction to get cheaper.’
