Cramer missed Tuesday’s procedural vote to advance gun legislation, which Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he hopes to have passed by the end of the week.

Cramer’s spokesperson Molly Block then clarified that his fingers were at risk of amputation, not his whole hand. Cramer ‘is cracking jokes that his future @NFL career is over,’ she wrote on Twitter.

Cramer wrote in a separate post that ‘part of one little finger’ is at risk.

The senator said he expects to return to Washington after July 4, and will be doling out ‘a lot of left-handed fist bumps.’
