Sunrise host Kochie makes a startling confession about his son-in-law just days before jetting to London to see daughter Georgie get married
Sunrise star David ‘Kochie’ Koch made a last minute confession about his son-in-law just days before jetting to London for his daughter’s wedding.
The anchor, 66, admitted on the morning show on Thursday that he is yet to meet his future son-in-law Alex Merkel’s family.
Kochie excitedly told viewers he would be sharing a house with his in-laws for a week before Alex and his daughter Georgie tie-the-knot.

‘We’re all sharing a house with him and his parents for a week before the wedding and we’ve never met them,’ he said.
‘It’ll either be Father Of The Bride or Nightmare On Elm Street,’ he joked.
Kochie went on to say that his daughter is marrying a German man who is an only child.

He said that his four children and eight grandchildren would all be attending the wedding.
Alex and Georgie became engaged in September last year with the pair residing in London, England.
Kochie said the family couldn’t be happier to permanently welcome Alex into the brood.

‘When your baby girl gets engaged,’ Kochie captioned an announcement post.
‘Congrats to @georgie_koch and “The German” aka @alex_merks… we couldn’t be happier for you both.’
David shares four adult children with his wife Libby. He welcomed his eighth grandchild in November last year.

He revealed his son AJ and wife Carolina had welcomed their first child, a daughter named Catalina May Koch.
David and Libby met decades ago, and have been happily together ever since.
‘Lib was a 20-year-old nurse. Our friend Judy decided to have a party, and that’s where we met back in 1977,’ Kochie told New Idea magazine last year.
