  • The world No.40 should cop a hefty fine after spitting at fans in first-round win
  • Officials could leave him up to $30,000 poorer for his scandalous antics

Nick Kyrgios has been barred from the star-studded centre courts at Wimbledon as officials reportedly won’t punish the Aussie bad boy for spitting by dumping him out of the tournament.

The 27-year-old spat towards heckling fans immediately after his rollercoaster 6-3, 1-6, 5-7, 7-6, 5-7 first-round win over British wildcard Paul Judd on Wednesday, Australian time.

He is yet to be handed a punishment for the incident, but will cop a hefty fine along with being booted to the All England Club’s outside courts, News Corp reported.

Throughout the five-set thriller, Kyrgios called a line judge a ‘snitch’, smashed a ball out of the stadium in a fit of rage and ate sushi in the post-match press conference while he accused Wimbledon of employing old line officials who were too old for the job.

His mid-conference meal angered many tennis fans who accused him of being disrespectful.

‘You are disrespectful for eating whilst being interviewed; you need to get some respect,’ one tweeted.

‘Nick Kyrgios saying he doesn’t want people to disrespect him whilst spitting at people, calling line judges ‘old man’ and then sitting through a press conference eating,’ wrote another.

The 2022 Australian Open doubles champion said he spat towards a spectator who was disrespecting him and hurling unnecessary abuse at the player.

‘Just pure disrespect, just anything. Someone just yelled out I was s**t in the crowd today. Is that normal? No. I just don’t understand why it’s happening over and over again,’ Kyrgios said post-match.

‘Have you ever gone to a supermarket and just started berating someone scanning the groceries? No. So why do they do it when I’m at Wimbledon? Why is that?’

Kyrgios has been drawn to take on Serbia’s Filip Krajinovic at court two on Thursday, which is on the outskirts of the Wimbledon complex and seats only 4,000 fans.

He must back up from the singles game on another outside court the next day with his fellow Australian Open men’s doubles champion, Thanasi Kokkinakis, for their first round face-off.

British broadcaster Piers Morgan labelled Kyrgios’ spitting antics disgusting, tweeting: ‘UPDATE: Kyrgios has upgraded himself from massive d*ck to nasty bully.’

If the world No.40 keeps winning at Wimbledon, he’ll play in front of the royal family and VIP guests on centre court – a privilege he hasn’t received since his 2014 debut, which saw him famously upset Rafael Nadal to advance to the quarter finals.

Chela was fined $2,600 for unsportsmanlike conduct, but Kyrgios could be hit with a $30,000 fee.

Kyrgios blasted 30 aces in his comeback victory and believes he is in the form to beat anyone, following strong grass-court campaigns in both Germany and Spain.

The king of court controversy is scheduled for to kick off his second round campaign at 9.15pm AEST on Thursday.
