Lidl’s heated airer returns to shelves THIS WEEKEND – and the budget supermarket claims it runs on less than 8p per hour

  • Lidl’s heated airer – a fan-favourite – returns to stores this Sunday, October 23
  • The supermarket currently offers the energy-saving appliance at £44.99
  • It claims the airer runs on less than 8p per hour and boasts a ‘lightweight’ design

As winter descends upon us and temperatures begin to drop, people trying to save on energy bills by avoiding using the tumbledryer might struggle to get their clothes dry on an airer.

Luckily, Lidl’s heated airer, a thrifty must-have beloved by money savers, is set to return to shelves this week – and claims to run on less than 8p per hour.

As the cost of living crisis continues to dent pockets, the gadget provides a golden medium between hanging your clothes out to dry at a snail’s pace and draining your electricity bill with other machines.

The budget supermarket offers the appliance at £44.99 and promises a cheaper, more energy efficient alternative to a tumble dryer, estimating a 92 per cent saving.

The brand calculated its energy use per hour based on estimates, and the figure may change depending on different tumble dryer models and circumstances.

Promising to be quicker than a traditional indoor airer, Lidl’s product also provides 12 metres of drying space and holds 10kg worth of laundry.

The company’s site also flaunted a ‘fold-out wing’ design.

The airer boasts a ‘lightweight, durable, and easy to manoeuvre frame’ and will be available in stores from Sunday, October 23.

Aldi’s viral heated airer – which at the moment retails for £39.99 on its site – also recently made a comeback, much to penny-savers’ delight.

According to Metro.co.uk, the 20-bar structure too offers to slash your bills by running on around 8p per hour.
