Marvel seems to accidentally reveal who Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is playing in Secret Invasion
The invasion may be secret, but the identity of Emilia Clarke’s character isn’t anymore.
The 36-year-old actress’ character seemed to be accidentally revealed by Marvel in an otherwise innocuous GIF posted to the popular social media app Tenor.
The GIF showed Clarke in character saying, ‘It’s the beginning.’ She wore her dark brown hair short so it barely brushed her shoulders.

However, the Tenor app labeled it ‘Its The Beginning Abigail Brand GIF,’ leading many fans to believe the Game of Thrones alum is playing Abigail Brand in the project.
In the Marvel Comics, Brand is a special agent for the United States government who joins S.W.O.R.D., a fictional agency which protects the world from extraterrestrial threats.
S.W.O.R.D. is a subdivision of S.H.I.E.L.D., the most prominent supernatural agency in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that created the Avengers Initiative.
Brand is actually an extraterrestrial herself in the comics. Her mother was born on Earth, but her father came from another planet. She was raised on a planet called Axus.

It’s unclear how many liberties the creators may take with her backstory in the highly-anticipated television miniseries.
Fans took to Twitter to express their opinions and, as with many debates over Marvel projects, some fans were excited and some weren’t.
‘Can’t hardly wait!! let’s go Queen #EmiliaClarke [red heart emoji] she’s gonna eat this role up [fire emoji],’ one user wrote.
Another added, ‘I was hoping for Queen Veranke of the Skrulls …. but I guess if you hire Emilia Clarke, you dont want her hidden behind prosthetics or CGI. I’m still excited for the Secret Invasion!!’
