PSV Eindhoven hit with £34,700 fine and ordered to reimburse Arsenal for the damage their fans caused during their Europa League clash at the Emirates

PSV Eindhoven have been hit with a €40,000 fine (£34,700) for the damage their fans caused during their Europa League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on October 20.
The Dutch club will also not be allowed to sell tickets to fans for their next European away game, and have been ordered to reimburse Arsenal for the damage done by their supporters.
Confirming their decision, UEFA released a statement on Thursday morning outlining the punishment handed down to PSV.

The statement read: ‘Fine PSV Eindhoven €40,000 and to ban PSV Eindhoven from selling tickets to its away supporters for the next one (1) UEFA competition match, for throwing of objects, crowd disturbances and acts of damages.
‘To order PSV Eindhoven to contact Arsenal FC within 30 days for the settlement of damages caused by its supporters, i.e. for the damaged seats.’
PSV fans filled up their allocation in the away corner of the Emirates, and proceeded to rip up seats in the stadium.
A lit flare could also be seen being held by a supporter at one stage, leading to a line of security heading over to keep a close eye on matters.

They certainly made themselves heard during the game, but were unable to inspire their team to victory as Arsenal picked up a 1-0 win thanks to a second half Granit Xhaka strike.
PSV and Arsenal are due to meet again on Thursday night, with the Gunners needing a point to seal top spot in Group A.
PSV will then finish the group stages with a trip to Bodo/Glimt, but their fans will not be allowed to travel with them to that game.
