Graham Potter suffered a disastrous return to his old club Brighton as the south coast club thumped Chelsea 4-1 to claim their first win under Roberto De Zerbi.

Leandro Trossard struck in the fifth minut before own goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Trevoh Chalobah put Chelsea 3-0 behind at the break.

Although Kai Havertz’s goal quickly after half-time inspired hope for the visitors, Potter ultimately suffered his first Chelsea defeat as the Blues failed to mount a comeback.
