Laura Jackson has revealed that she was followed home by a ‘really strange’ man after the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2022 on Tuesday night.

The TV presenter, 36, took to Instagram the morning after the event in London to say she was trailed by someone after getting off the tube and heading to her house.

Sharing her experience she told how it’s ‘absolute bulls**t that now it’s winter we don’t feel safe to walk home at night’ and said she felt ‘spooked by her own shadow’ for the rest of the night.

Sensing something was wrong she decided to call her sister to come and pick her up and walked back to the station where she spoke to TFL staff.

She penned on social media while sharing pictures form the event: ‘After such a wonderful night, I thought I’d be economical and get the tube home, a route I do many times.

‘Unfortunately last night I was followed by a really strange man. That feeling when someone’s watching you on the train, gets off at your stop, walks closely next to you and waits for you to walk ahead to follow you.

‘Sensing that something was off, about to cross the road, I called my sister and walked back to the station.

‘I’ve never felt so sure something would have happened. After the lovely TFL workers offered to walk me home luckily my sister came to pick me up.

‘I spooked by my own shadow in my own home all night – something I’ve never experienced.

Deborah Joseph, European Editorial Director at Glamour, said: ‘Shining a spotlight on women who are game-changing in their field and challenging the status quo, our Glamour Women of the Year event is back, celebrating feminism in all forms and corners of the globe.

‘Celebrating women who make incredible differences is one of the best parts of leading Glamour in Europe, so I’m excited for Women of the Year to put this centre stage.’

The Women of the Year awards also celebrate new talent, whether it’s rising stars or activists running incredible campaigns, such as one of last year’s winners, Amika George, who successfully campaigned for free period products to be made available in England in 2020.
