Rams ‘allow Allen Robinson to find a trade with LA prepared to pay a portion of his $15.25m salary’

Rams ‘allow wide receiver Allen Robinson II to find a trade with the team prepared to pay some of his $15.25m salary to help aid a move’ after a disastrous debut season with LA

Pro Bowl receiver Allen Robinson II could be on the move after the LA Rams ‘have given agent permission to seek a trade.’

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the 2021 Super Bowl champions are even willing to account for a large chunk of his salary next season.

‘LA is willing to pay a portion of Robinson’s $15.25 million guaranteed salary to facilitate a deal,’ the report said.

Ian Rapoport added the Rams have already been looking to ship Robinson in recent weeks, to no avail.

‘The salary makes it very challenging, but it’s clear both sides would like a fresh start,’ he said. ‘A cautionary tale heading into free agency.’

Allen Robinson II had a disastrous season with LAR after signing a three-year, $46.5m deal

Robinson signed for Sean McVay and the Rams on a three-year, $46.5m deal in March 2022.

The former Jacksonville and Chicago star struggled to show out after joining the Ram’s then Super Bowl winning offense last offseason.

Robinson had just 33 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games for LA.

He has now had his two worst statistical seasons back-to-back, after a tough season with Chicago in 2021 under Matt Nagy, now the Kansas City offensive coordinator.

Robinson finished that season with 38 receptions, 410 yards and a touchdown. Prior to the previous two campaigns, Robinson had established himself as an elite pass catcher.

The Penn State alum had consecutive 1,000 receiving-yard seasons in 2019 and 2020.

Robinson started his career with the Jaguars after being drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

In 2018, he signed a three-year, $42m deal with the Chicago Bears as a free agent.
