Owen Hargeaves has claimed Manchester United would love to have ‘dynamic’ Jude Bellingham in midfield.

The Borussia Dortmund star’s future has been much discussed, with rumours of a potential move to Liverpool in the Premier League.

Marcus Rashford fired United to victory at Real Betis with a rocket of a strike as Erik ten Hag’s side cruised through to the Europa League quarter-finals.

And the former Red Devils midfielder was quick to mention his name, but also said that Christian Eriksen has ‘made a huge difference’ to the side.

After the game, the 42-year-old told BT Sport: ‘Obviously you’d love to have someone dynamic like Bellingham in midfield!

He continued: ‘But I think Eriksen has made a huge difference to this side. Obviously him not being there and Casemiro has a big impact.’

The 19-year-old has become one of the most highly rated youngsters in world football after stellar performances for Dortmund and England in the past 12 months.

Liverpool feel they will have a good chance of signing Bellingham if they qualify for the Champions League next year

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have made contact with the young midfielder. Chelsea and Man City are also believed to be in the hunt.

It now looks as though another contender has joined, with the Telegraph reporting that United are ‘genuinely interested’ in the England star.

They also claim that, while Dortmund still hope to keep their star midfielder, they have set a minimum fee of ‘£110m’ for him.

It comes after the Red Devils headed to Spain all-but assured of progress from this last-16 tie having won the first leg 4-1 in freezing conditions at Old Trafford last Thursday.

Betis made United sweat during the opening stages in the return fixture, but Rashford’s outstanding strike silenced the bouncing Estadio Benito Villamarin and secured a 1-0 win on the night.

The impressive 5-1 aggregate triumph puts them through to the quarter-finals, with Friday’s draw to outline their potential path to the Europa League final in Budapest.
