That’s one VERY Good Friday! Boozy Brit revellers party in the streets for four-day weekend (but some Easter bunnies will have sore heads today)

  • Partygoers make the most of the start of a long Easter bank holiday weekend
  • Across the country, people braved the cold for a lively night on the town

Britons were out in force this evening, kicking off the four-day Bank Holiday weekend in high spirits to the apparent amusement, or bemusement, of passers by.

Pictures sent in from across the country show punters wasted no time in flocking to pubs dressed up in Easter outfits for a night on the town.

As temperatures in the capital soared to highs of 48 F (9 C) overnight, Londoners opted for outdoor drinks, donning bunny ears.

Onlookers could only look on as revellers danced in public and downed drinks as businesses close their doors for the weekend.

In Oxford, young people were seen in the city centre for a night of fun.

Venues are making the most of the long weekend with a string of themed nights across the city.

Oxford residents can look forward to clear skies through until Sunday, with showers expected on Easter Monday.
