Ja Morant is active for Game 3 and will start against the Lakers on Saturday, the Grizzlies announced.

Morant suffered a soft tissue bruise in his hand in Memphis’ Game 1 loss as he fell to the ground in the fourth quarter.

The Lakers would go on to win 128-112, setting up an almost must-win Game 2 for Memphis with their star guard sidelined.

With Morant out, his teammates dug in for a 103-93 win behind a career-high 22 points from Xavier Tillman.

The guard was previously considered a game-time decision for Saturday’s game.

After ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported there was still a ‘measure of pain’ for Morant earlier Saturday, it will be worth watching just how effective he is against the Lakers.

Before exiting Game 1, Morant had 18 points and six rebounds in 30 minutes.

But the fourth-year guard has been tremendous in 15 career postseason games, averaging 27.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.7 assists with the Grizzlies.

Games 3, 4 and 6 (if necessary) will be played in LA while a potential 5 and 7 would be in Memphis.
