Maybe shades of things to come on Saturday night as Wilder will have the right to enter the ring second as still the WBC champion following the controversial draw in their first fight.

Fury was bedecked in another one of his extravagant suits, this time it beared hundreds of motifs featuring his own face – and a message about mental health.

When Wilder did appear it was in a fur collared leather coat with a gold chain and medallion hanging on his bare chest.

Fury had the crowd of some thousands cheering as he repeated his vow to land a second round KO: ‘Absolutely. In an effing war.’

The Manchester giant’s reception exceeded that of Wilder’s as fans from both sides of the Atlantic appeared to show their allegiance lies with this popular British heavyweight.

‘I’m very happy so many people have turned out for this event,’ he said.

Grabbing the microphone, the Gypsy King then roared: ‘Who’s ready for a f****** war? Let’s go! I’ve done everything correctly in training camp, I’ve been over here for 10 weeks and I feel on fire.

The self-styled Gypsy King played up to the crowd and shouted: 'Who's ready for a f****** war?'

‘I’m ready for anything they chuck at me. I cannot wait for Saturday. This is the biggest fight of the last 50 years in the heavyweight division with two men putting it on the line.

‘The fans will be the winners because we both have a lot to lose. It’s going to be an entertaining fight.’

Half an hour later Wilder reached the stage screaming his trademark ‘Bomb Squad.’

Then he said: ‘I can’t wait to serve my greatness in this fight by knocking him out. Then we congratulate each other on the great job we did.’
