While Uber’s ‘quiet mode’ option has generated plenty of controversy, radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has admitted she’s a fan.

She revealed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday, that she has been tempted to use it but is worried what drivers will think.

‘I want to click that every time, but I’m too scared! Because I think, “Oh, they’ll think I’m such a snob,”‘ she told co-host Kyle Sandilands.

‘But that’s what I want to click. I think it’s a great idea… I don’t want to talk in an Uber,’ she added.

Kyle wasn’t impressed, telling Jackie the her preference for the ‘quiet mode’ option does indeed make her a ‘snob’.

‘No, I just want to be on my phone and do my own thing,’ Jackie clarified, to which Kyle replied: ‘Yeah, snob. That’s what a snob is!’

‘You couldn’t be bothered talking to a stranger, because you’re in your own world, and whatever they’ve got to say, you’re not interested in. I think you’re a snob,’ he told her.

Jackie then justified her opinions, by explaining she was recently obligated to endure making small talk during a 40-minute Uber ride.

Taking an exasperated sigh, she said she’d been forced to talk about ‘everything’ with her driver.

‘The whole way we were chatting… It’s like, I don’t want to talk about that for 40 minutes! It’s too much, sorry,’ she said.

‘I don’t worry about getting rated by some bloke driving me around. Who’s he to rate me?! Rate me on what? What’s he rating me on?’ he ranted.

He added: ‘What’s a good passenger? What the hell does that mean? What does he want from me?’
