‘What has he done for us?’ London mayor Sadiq Khan is HECKLED as he visits Regent’s Park Mosque to reassure worshippers the day after a prayer leader was stabbed

London mayor Sadiq Khan was heckled as he visited a mosque today to reassure worshippers after a prayer leader was stabbed on the holy site.
The Labour politician was targeted with cries of ‘we elected you, what has he done for us?’ as he attended Friday Prayers at the London Central Mosque in Regent’s Park.
He visited the congregation as Raafat Maglad, who was wounded in Thursday’s attack, defiantly returned to the Islamic centre with his arm in a sling.
Mr Khan was being escorted through a throng of worshippers earlier today when he was heckled, according to footage obtained by the Guido Fawkes blog.
He later urged people to remain vigilant and reassured them that police will maintain a presence at the mosque, particularly as the holy month of Ramadan approaches.
Addressing worshippers over the loudspeaker system after prayers had ended, he said: ‘If you see anybody acting suspiciously please be the eyes and ears of our police so they can keep us safe.’

Mr Maglad, who is in his 70s, was attacked on Thursday afternoon. Witnesses told how the muezzin, who makes the call to prayer, was stabbed at around 3pm in an attack the Metropolitan Police is not treating as terror-related.
He was taken to hospital, where he was later pictured with a dressing to a wound on the right side of his neck.
Worshippers tackled the suspect, a 29-year-old man who is believed to have been attending prayers, before he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder inside the mosque.
This morning, Mr Maglad was photographed outside his home smiling and wearing a sling to support his right arm.
He later arrived at the mosque, where he was escorted inside by security shortly after 12.30pm.
Ayaz Ahmad, adviser to the mosque, said: ‘Everybody’s reaction was shock and horror, the men were screaming.
‘It was a vicious attack. We live in a society where we hear a lot about knife crime and what have you, but actually to physically be in a situation where you’re first-hand watching an attempted murder take place, it’s very shocking.’
