Massive Alaskan Malamute attempts to avoid bath time after a muddy walk

You can’t see me! Massive Alaskan Malamute hilariously tries to hide behind a toilet to avoid bath time after a muddy walk

  • Emma-Leigh Matthews shared a video of Philip as he attempted to avoid a bath
  • She said the pup ‘smelled disgusting’ after a walk by a lake with his friend Niko
  • He then tries to hide behind a toilet and a baby bouncer to avoid getting in bath

A massive Alaskan Malamute attempted to hide himself behind a toilet and a baby bouncer in order to avoid bath time  in hilarious footage.

The video, shared on YouTube by LifeWithMalamutes, captures Emma-Leigh Matthews as she walks her two Alaskan Malamutes near a lake with her newborn daughter Mia.

Later in the clip, Mrs Matthews explains how one of the pups – Philip – ‘smells disgusting’ and needs a bath despite already having been ‘hosed down outside’ after his walk.

This comes much to the horror of the Alaskan Malamute, who the mother explains usually ‘refuses to go in the bathroom’ because he hates baths.

Philip then proceeds to spend the next ten minutes attempting to hide in the corner, behind the toilet and underneath baby Mia’s bouncer to avoid having to get in the tub.

‘So we are home now and Philip rolled in something that smells disgusting,’ Mrs Matthews explains. ‘I’ve already hosed him down outside but the smell is still there and we’ve only got a cold water tap outside and I don’t like doing that because it’s around his neck.

‘So today because he’s not booked in at the groomers for another four weeks we’re going to have to bath him.’

The mother went on to explain that as Philip is a 100lbs dog, she needs her partner Shane to help get him into the bath.

But as he came up the stairs and was ushered into the bathroom, the dog attempted to hide in the corner of the room to avoid being cleaned off in the tub.

In the clip, Philip skillfully avoids looking at Shane as he asks the pup ‘do you want a bath?’ repeatedly.

He continues to stare at the wall as his owner approaches him, alongside Milo the cat, who sat nearby as Philip then began to sink to the floor.

The Alaskan Malamute eventually lies down on the floor and stares at the door, before attempted to first hide behind the cat and then with his head behind the toilet.

‘You can’t hide behind the toilet,’ says Shane. ‘Come on!’

In a last-ditch attempt to evade bath time, Philip then pushes himself behind baby Mia’s bouncer, which was on the floor of the bathroom.

But eventually, Shane moves the bouncer out of the way and coaxes the Alaskan Malamute from underneath the sink.

The pup is then picked up and finally deposited in the bath, where he stands sheepishly as his owners begin to clean him.
