‘It’s nerve-wracking’: Strictly favourite Karen Hauer voices fears over her future on the show… and reveals the choice of celebrity determines which pros stays or goes

Strictly favourite Karen Hauer has admitted she is nervous about not being asked to return to the show, despite her nine year spell as a pro.

In an interview with The Mirror, the dancing sensation, 37, said: ‘It’s nerve-wracking. It all depends on which celebrities they’ve signed up and whether you fit in.’

She confessed she is not sure of her fate, while admitting to her concerns about not being brought back due to her love of the programme.

Uncertain: Karen Hauer, 37, has revealed she does not know if her fate is certain when it comes to reappearing on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing

Karen – who was previously married to Kevin Clifton – also said that appearing on the show has ‘completely changed my life.’

Karen will soon be touring a live show called Firedance with fellow pro Gorka Marquez, who did not get a celebrity partner on last year’s Strictly.

Praising her co-star she said: ‘He’s very calm and easygoing. He’s made me calmer. Our roots are very Latino and fiery. We’re good friends.’

Following the demise of her relationship with Kevin, she is enjoying her romance with opera singer David Webb, 36. She public with the hunk on Boxing Day in 2018 after he flew to New York to spend the holidays with Karen and her family.

The star told Hello: ‘He’s my rock. It’s so nice to have someone that understands and accepts me, doesn’t judge and doesn’t try to change me in any way.

‘Everyone just falls in love with him too, because he has such a beautiful soul.’

But things were not always rosy for Karen as she came through a painful divorce from her fellow dancer Kevin with the star describing how much the process had taken a toll her life.

‘I’d taken a big hit and I was going through a whole explosion of emotions,’ she explained. ‘My life was completely changing from one day to another. It did affect me mentally and physically – I wasn’t in a good place.’
