Chrissie Swan reveals why fans rarely see her on TV anymore

‘I’ve tested it enough times to know, and the result has been the same’: Chrissie Swan reveals why she’s shied away from regular hosting roles on TV

She won a Silver Logie for Most Popular New Female Talent in 2011 for her panellist role on The Circle.

But for many years, Chrissie Swan has shied away from regular TV appearances.

Speaking to Stellar Magazine, the former Big Brother star-turned-media personality, 46, revealed the reason she has turned down lucrative TV roles is because she doesn’t want to be separated from her family.

Chrissie and partner Chris Saville share sons Kit, seven, and Leo, 10, and six-year-old daughter Peggy.

‘Most of the shows are filmed in Sydney and I just don’t do well away from my family on any level, even for a night,’ she explained.

‘I don’t know if I’m a sook, but I just don’t do well out of my role as a mother. I wish I did. I’ve tested it enough times to know, and the result has been the same.

‘I get in a funk in hotel rooms. I just get so sad away from the kids. I’d rather be here at home,’ Chrissie continued.

Her last full-time hosting role was alongside Grant Denyer in 2016 for Channel Ten’s family-friendly quiz show, The Great Australian Spelling Bee.

While Chrissie has become a fixture of Melbourne’s Nova 100 team since 2015, she does still make the odd appearance on Australian TV.
