Adam Pally talks about punching Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian during Watch What Happens Live

While he’s best known for comedic roles, Adam Pally ventured into a galaxy far, far away in the last two episodes of the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, where he earned the unique distinction as the only character to punch Baby Yoda.

In the Season 1 finale, Chapter 8: Redemption, Pally plays Bike Scout Trooper #2 alongside Jason Sudeikis’ Bike Scout Trooper #1, who were tasked with watching Baby Yoda, who was stuffed into a bag.

Pally’s character punched Baby Yoda once for squealing, and another for biting his finger, with the actor opening up about his role in the Star Wars universe on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.

During the episode, where Pally, 37, was a guest alongside Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval, the actor was asked what, ‘the worst interaction he’s had with a fan since punching Baby Yoda.’

Pally laughed and said he hasn’t, ‘really had any negative interactions, it’s been all pretty great.’

When host Andy Cohen asked if it was ‘fun’ to punch Baby Yoda, Pally said, ‘It was fun, yeah. It was more fun to be in all that stuff and ride around on a hover scooter and all that stuff like that.’

He also added, though, that, ‘punching Baby Yoda was a little stressful, because it’s just a lot… it’s expensive and there’s a lot of stuff going on.’

The actor added that, since the episode has aired, ‘no one has disinvited me to Star Wars conventions or anything like that.’

Cohen added that the convention circuit could be, ‘a new money stream’ for him, with Pally adding that, ‘I will take any money stream.’

Both the Bike Scout Trooper characters played by Pally and Sudeikis were featured in the last two episodes of the first season.

In a previous interview on Late Night with Seth Myers, Pally went into more detail about how hard he hit Baby Yoda the first time.

‘The first time I did it, I hit it too hard. I don’t know, I was excited. So I clocked it. And like 30 people popped up like moles in that game that you hit,’ he added.

‘And everyone was like “Whoa whoa whoa whoa!” And (creator) Jon Favreau came down and put me in the little nook of his [arm] and he went “That thing is very expensive … you don’t want to do that. And I can’t stress this enough, this is the movies.” I was like “Got it.”‘

The Mandalorian has been renewed for Season 2, though there is no indication if Pally and his punch-happy Bike Storm Trooper #2 will return.
