Married At First Sight’s David Cannon has been slammed by viewers for cleaning the toilet with his ‘TV wife’ Hayley Vernon’s toothbrush after she cheated on him with fellow cast member, Michael Goonan.
Disgusted fans branded the act of revenge ‘sick’ and ‘passive aggressive’ on Twitter on Tuesday night after it was previewed on the show in a trailer for the first time.
And on October 15, the day after filming Wednesday’s yet-to-air dinner party, the truck driver looked remorseful and strained.

He was spotted walking around the casts’ apartment building on Clarence Street in Sydney while talking on his mobile phone during a brief break from filming scenes inside.
David tried to keep a low profile, pulling his cap down while wearing sunglasses.

Since the preview for Wednesday’s shocking episode aired, the Melbourne-based hobby farmer has been slammed by fans on Twitter.
‘David uses Hayley’s toothbrush to clean [the] toilet as renege? #PassiveAggressive,’ tweeted on viewer on Tuesday night.

Speaking on a podcast this week, David opened up about the toothbrush scandal.
‘About three days after the cheating scandal happens, I’ve heard nothing from Hayley and I’m in a really dark place,’ he began.
‘I still had her room key, and that’s when I did something really childish. I regret it now because I’ve lowered myself to her level.’
