Married At First Sight: Hayley Vernon claims Stacey Hampton had an affair with Mikey Pembroke

Married At First Sight’s Hayley Vernon has claimed that Stacey Hampton had an affair with co-star Mikey Pembroke during a production break in Sydney last year. 

Following Wednesday night’s dinner party – which saw Stacey rage at Hayley for kissing her ‘husband’, Michael Goonan – Hayley has sensationally turned the tables on her rival. 

‘It turns out during the break, Stacey actually sleeps with Mikey Pembroke and Mikey calls me during the break and goes, “I feel so bad for you that you’ve been vilified,”‘ Hayley told Mamamia on Wednesday. 

Hayley added: ‘Production actually paid for him to fly back from Italy [where he was on holiday] to attend the reunion [in January] so he could confront Stacey.’ 

Stacey and Michael allegedly slept together around November, during a lengthy production break that took place after the final vows but before the cast reunion.

This is not to be confused with an earlier 11-day production break that occurred around late September, early October. 

Stacey has strongly denied sleeping with Mikey, telling Daily Mail Australia that nothing physical happened between them during filming. 

In a video leaked to Now To Love earlier this week, she said: ‘I sit here today and swear on anything and everything that nothing happened between Mikey and I.’

Despite this, Mikey hinted at the rumours with Stacey in a radio interview this week.  

The 29-year-old operations manager told Fitzy & Wippa: ‘I did say at the start of the show that I’d be interested in other girls as long as their relationship wasn’t good.’

When asked if he had considered making a move on Stacey, he downplayed a potential affair but didn’t rule it out completely.

‘You know what? Probably not. She’s not my kind of girl. Like, I did say I didn’t like high-maintenance girls that are a lot of work. But she’s still attractive,’ he said.

‘[But] give me a few beers and I’ll go out and there’s not much I wouldn’t hit!’

During Wednesday night’s dinner party, Stacey screamed at Hayley over her kiss with Michael, after they’d hooked up during an 11-day production break last year.

‘You’ve just ruined a relationship. Yes, he’s a d**k head at parties… but you’ve taken advantage of that,’ she said, placing the blame squarely on Hayley, not Michael.

‘You were encouraging vulnerable Michael. We all know he gets drunk,’ she added.

Before the fight, Stacey had warned producers: ‘She is an absolute scumbag. She does not know what’s coming for her. I’m about to turn a f**king steam train on to her.’

Hayley broke down in tears at the dinner party, saying: ‘I’m kind of perplexed. Stacey’s reaction was to just pin it all on me, [rather] than to accept what her husband did.

‘I got emotional because I think it’s the straw that broke the camel’s back.’
