Seven’s new series Pooch Perfect, hosted by Rebel Wilson, managed to draw in 624,000 metro viewers on Thursday night.

He said in a statement: ‘We’re happy with last night’s launch of Pooch Perfect, a great new Seven Studios format.

‘It won at 7:30 and won 25-54s in its slot, with significant week-on-week timeslot growth in both total people and 25-54s’.

While some fans were fawning over the adorable rescue pups featured on the show, others were left shocked by Rebel’s ‘adult humour’ on the family-friendly program.

The show featured gags including ‘stop scissoring’, a joke about a pearl necklace and calling the dogs ‘b***hes’, and some claimed they didn’t make it past the opening few scenes.

‘Rebel Wilson is making a bit of a mockery of this show. She doesn’t want to be there and the pearl necklace joke… just no,’ one Twitter user said.

Another commented: ‘I love Rebel Wilson but her jokes are terrible and so inappropriate for the family.’
