Alison Brie awkwardly avoids questions about rumoured She-Hulk casting as she’s quizzed during Late Late Show appearance

There have been rumours swirling for months that Alison Brie will be the star of Marvel’s planned She-Hulk adventure.

Yet the actress left fans in the dark after she awkwardly avoided answering the question during an appearance on the Late Late Show on Friday.

While making an appearance on James Corden’s programme, the GLOW star, 37, was faced with rumors that she may play the latest version of the character in an upcoming Disney+ series.

Never say never: While appearing on James Corden’s show, Alison Brie was faced with rumors that she may play the latest version of the character in an upcoming Disney+ series

According to Corden, a press release for a casting call had been sent out looking for an ‘Alison Brie-type’ to play She-Hulk.

When asked what she thought, Alison said: ‘I woke up to a lot of side-by-side Instagram posts of me and She Hulk which I just thought, “cool”.’

‘And then that quote about an “Alison Brie-type”, which honestly I found very exciting because for years I’ve auditioned for the Anne Hathaway type or the Zooey Deschanel type, I was very flattered to be my own type for somebody else.’

Later asked if she thought about auditioning for the call, she replied: ‘Well then I made some phone calls, and we’ll talk about it later…’

When pushed for more information, the Mad Men star continued to deny any plans but said that she would be open to the role.

James then joked that she had convinced him she would be playing She Hulk to applause from the audience.

She-Hulk stems from Stan Lee’s 1980 comic and is a lawyer who gets an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, giving her Hulk-like qualities.

Movie behemoth Disney have recently announced three new live-action series that are in development, slated to be part of the offering within the Mouse House’s new streaming service Disney+.

The three projects are based on popular comic book superheroes She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight, and at least two of them feature female and/or minority protagonists.

Although current Incredible Hulk Mark Ruffalo has been rumored to be attached to the She-Hulk project, it has yet to be confirmed on his IMDb page.

Most fans agree that Ruffalo’s rendition of the Hulk, who began appearing in the MCU starting with 2012’s The Avengers, is by far the most successful to grace the big screen.
