Twisted: Coronation Street viewers were left horrified during Friday night’s installment of the soap as evil Geoff Metcalfe tricked his wife Yasmeen Nazir into eating her own pet chicken

Earlier in the episode, Geoff threw Yasmeen’s home-cooked stew in the bin after complaining it had ‘no meat’.

After she explained that she had ‘ran out of money’ to buy extra ingredients, Geoff didn’t listen to reason as he emptied her meal into the rubbish.

The character then fumed at his wife to get upstairs as he told her he’d cook another meal instead.

He was then seen heading outside with a bucket of chicken feed as he sinisterly said: ‘Here Charlotte. Come to Uncle Geoff.’

The couple later sat down to dinner, with Yasmeen commenting on the ‘tender’ chicken as Geoff cruelly watched on.

Hinting at his horrible trick, after pushing his wife to compliment the dish, he then said: ‘Good, I thought she might be a bit dry being an older bird.’

As the penny slowly dropped for Yasmeen, Geoff added: ‘Well at least she’s fed us one last time. I’d like to raise a toast to Charlotte. ‘

Horrified over eating her beloved bird, Yasmeen spat her food out onto her plate before running out of the room in tears.

After watching the scenes, viewers were quick to share their disgust at the plot on Twitter.

‘It’s not just the fact that Geoff has killed Charlotte the chicken. It’s the fact that Geoff has killed Charlotte to punish Yasmeen. And now he’s serving her up for dinner. What a disgusting individual #Corrie,’ wrote one viewer.

While another declared: ‘I feel sick! Poor Charlotte.’
