Lewis Hamilton looks dapper in a pink beanie and an all-white ensemble as he meets fans in Amsterdam

He recently revealed one of the things that helps him on the track is his vegan diet, which he initially decided to overhaul because of his love of animals.

And Lewis Hamilton looked dapper in a casual chic ensemble as he met fans at the launch of the Tommy X Lewis SP20 collection in the Bijenkorf, in Amsterdam, on Saturday.

The Formula One champion, 35, donned a pink Tommy Hilfiger beanie over his chocolate-brown tresses, proving to be a great model for the clothing brand’s new line of menswear.

The F1 driver complemented the look by wearing a pair of matching white cargo trousers, while he accessorised with a gold chain necklace.

He kept his look low-key by wearing a pair of tinted aviator shades, and looked ruggedly handsome with a close-cropped beard.

Lewis has his own collection with Tommy Hilfiger, which debuted at London Fashion Week earlier this month.

In January, Lewis detailed his vegan diet as he admitted that while his ‘first’ thought was the prolonging of the planet and its animals, it has ultimately left him feeling energised and raring to go.

He opened up about the positive impacts following a vegan diet has had on his performance, energy levels and the overall health of his gut.

The F1 champion told the new issue of GQ Hype magazine: ‘Ultimately, you want to feel great. You want to have energy, to be consistent.

‘You don’t want to have the big oscillations and highs and lows in your energy levels. Veganism has eradicated that. When I was 22, it was raw talent.

‘You’ve got an abundance of energy, you’re fit, there are no aches and pains… But I’m always looking at how I can improve.’

He added that the things he looks to improve are: ‘Can my eyesight be better? Can my reactions be improved? Are there new ways of testing my reactions?

‘The ergonomics in the car … how can I make everything simpler? There’s a multitude of things and I’m always trying to raise the bar.

Lewis revealed that his diet transformation has healed his gut, he said: ‘One of the things was my sleeping pattern and not feeling right in the stomach. Your gut is your second brain.’

The motor sportsman added that non-vegans are missing out and said: ‘We’re taught to drink milk and eat meat for protein and I started looking into other areas of research around all this.

‘The first thing was, what’s happening to the animals? ‘Secondly, the impact it can have on your body. That’s a free advantage I’m going to take. If no one else wants it, well that’s their loss.’

Lewis, who decided to try veganism in 2017, has since opened his own meat-free, dairy free, free-from meat products restaurant called Neat Burger.
