Their relationship has gone from strength to strength in recent years.

And Ozzy Osbourne admitted that he and wife Sharon are closer than ever now that he is spending time at home, as he recovers from his horror fall that aggravated a neck injury from his 2003 quad bike accident last year.

Speaking with The Telegraph Magazine on Saturday, the rock legend, 71, admitted that initially he was concerned about staying at home following his surgery, as he ‘never had a year off in [his] life’.

Describing what went through his mind after his surgery, he explained: ‘When I came round, the surgeon said to me “You won’t be active for at least a year.” What? a year?

‘I’ve never had a year off in my life! I’ve never been home this long in 50 years! It’s driving me mad, and I’m driving my family f***ing mad.’

Despite his reservations, though, Ozzy said of how his time off has impacted his marriage: ‘To be perfectly honest with you, we’ve gotten closer. I’m 71 now, she’s 66 or something, and at this time of my life I’d like to have got out OK.’

Ozzy went public with his Parkinson’s diagnosis last month, and recently revealed the past year has been ‘f**king hell’.

Making the comment while addressing the crowd at the iHeart Radio with Ozzy Osbourne: In Celebration of Ordinary Man event, he said: ‘This last year, I’ve been in a bad state, health-wise… I had surgery on my spine which has f**ked me up.

‘Everyone thinks I’ve just discovered the Parkinson’s. I’ve known about the Parkinson’s since 2003. And it’s not like the Michael J. Fox one, thank God.

‘It’s a milder thing that I have, but still – it’s there. I can’t let it stop me.’

‘This last year, it all caught up with me. Staph infection in my hand, then I had pneumonia, then I fell over, then I had surgery.

‘It’s just been f**king hell… I paid for all the years that got away from me.’

The crippling nerve damage he felt following his recent spinal surgery is the reason why he called off his North American leg of his No More Tours 2 tour, so he could seek further treatment in Switzerland.

The Crazy Train artist was set to perform a string of concerts through North America this summer beginning in Atlanta May 27, with a finale of July 31.

He remains slated to play a leg in Europe that commences October 23 in Newcastle.
