The film is described as a road trip comedy that follows two Army Rangers put together against their will – Briggs (Tatum) and a Belgian Malinois dog named Lulu.

They will both race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to a fellow soldier’s (and Lulu’s handler) funeral in time, driving each other crazy along the way.

During their journey they will also confront the possibility of pet psychics being a real thing as they come to grips with the one thing they were trained not to do: surrender.
