YouTube star Friendlyjordies explains the REAL reason why his Married At First Sight recaps were de-monetised… after accusing Channel Nine of trying to ‘take him down’

YouTube star Friendlyjordies recently made headlines when he accused Channel Nine of trying to block him from making money on his Married At First Sight recaps.

However, the popular vlogger (real name Jordan Shanks) has now claimed the saga may have been caused by an automated system – and not a deliberate act from Nine.

Speaking to Hit Mid North Coasts Krysti & Bodge, Jordan explained that it’s likely his recap videos were automaticaly de-monetised by YouTube because they contained footage taken from MAFS.

‘They tried to take us down!’ YouTube star Friendlyjordies, aka Jordan Shanks (pictured), has explained the REAL reason why his Married At First Sight recaps were de-monetised

‘Usually when it comes to someone like your CBS-es of the world and your Channel Nine, they kind of just have this automated thing where, if they’ve sensed there’s any footage on it they’ll just take [the video] off,’ he said.

He went on to warn YouTubers with smaller audiences to be wary of using official footage from television shows in their recap videos.

‘If you’ve got a big audience like me or (popular YouTuber) Pewdiepie you can do it’, he said.

‘But if you’re smaller than that I think they’ll just take it (your video) off (YouTube) forever’, Jordan warned.

Late last month, Jordan claimed that the ‘boomers’ working at Channel Nine were trying to block him from cashing in on MAFS recap videos.

‘Channel 10 was so nice about our Bachelor recaps… Nine, I don’t want to sound condescending, you boomers, but do you not know how the internet works?’ he raged in a YouTube video.

At the end of the clip, he asked viewers to like the post so that he can continue making the videos.

Following an outcry from fans and significant media coverage of the saga, Jordan’s videos were once again monetised.
