Daniel Craig cuts a chic figure in all black at Casino Royale screening after celebrating his 52nd birthday

His fifth foray as Britain’s smoothest spy is set to hit theaters in just over a month, and on Tuesday, he took the time to look back at his first time out in the role.

Actor Daniel Craig, whose most famous film performance thus far is as the current James Bond, was on hand that evening at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art, for the debut of a retrospective screening series of his work.

The actor, who turned 52 years old just the day before, looked dapper in a black suit at the screening event, which he paired with a blue-black button-down dress shirt worn open at the collar.

The famously blue-eyed thespian completed his look with a large black wristwatch, as well as matching black leather shoes.

Craig also posed with MoMA’s chief curator of film, Raj Roy.

The series, entitled In Character, will kick things off with the 2006 Bond film Casino Royale.

It will also show another highlight from Daniel’s tenure as Agent 007 — Sam Mendes’s brilliant 2012 entry, Skyfall.

Other films featured in the series will include Daniel’s work outside of playing Bond, like his collaboration with Steven Spielberg for the 2005 film Munich, or Matthew Vaughn’s Layer Cake from the year before.

A more recent entry will be screened on Friday, March 13 — the hit whodunit Knives Out from last year, directed by Rian Johnson.

A sequel to that film has already been announced, with Craig to reprise his role of Benoit Blanc.

As for the latest Bond movie No Time To Die, the release of the film has become a hotly contested issue in light of the developing threat of the Coronavirus, amid cancellations the world over of crowded public events like film premieres and press junkets.

The upcoming film is currently scheduled to hit UK cinemas on April 2nd and US theaters on April 10th, but producers have reportedly discussed plans to move the release forward due to concerns over the virus.

The James Bond fansite MI6-HQ posted an open letter to MGM and Universal on Monday, urging studios ‘to put public health above marketing release schedules,’ while the pandemic in China has already delayed the film’s Hong Kong release to April 30th.

But as of now, the world premiere for No Time To Die is still scheduled for London, England on March 31st.
