Joe Biden confuses his wife and sister during Super Tuesday speech before protester storms the stage

Vegan protesters stormed the stage during Joe Biden’s Super Tuesday victory speech before being wrestled off-stage by his wife – moments after he made his latest campaign blunder calling her ‘my sister’.

The presidential hopeful was addressing crowds in Los Angeles, when a protester for California-based animal rights group ‘Direct Action Everywhere’ leaped on stage shouting ‘Let dairy die!’

The woman was quickly removed from the stage only to be replaced by a second who jumped up waving a sign with the same slogan and shouting.

The first protester clearly took the presidential candidate’s wife Jill by surprise as she jumped out of the way, grabbing her husband by the arm.

But, when the second fancied their chances, she stepped into action, wrestling the activist away.

Biden’s senior adviser Symone Sanders also rushed up to grab the woman, who was then escorted away by security.

It’s not the first time Jill Biden has acted as security at her husband’s events.

On the eve of the first primary in New Hampshire last month, a man was heckling her husband and recording it on his cellphone.

Again, it was Jill who saved the day and beat security to the heckler, hopping up from her seat and keeping him at bay before he could be removed.

After the event, she joked to reporters that: ‘I’m a good Philly girl.’

But it seems her ability to take on several identities during her husband’s campaign trail has confused her husband.

Just moments earlier the former vice president made yet another campaign gaffe when he mixed up Jill and sister Valerie, who had both joined him at the podium.

President Trump seized on the opportunity to mock his rival, retweeting a social media post from Townhall.com that mocked Biden’s blunder.

President Trump seized on the opportunity to mock his rival’s latest blunder

Trump had earlier mocked Biden for his ever-expanding series of campaign blunders, saying he would need to be ‘put into a home’ if he won the White House.

The president took aim at Biden, 77, when speaking to a crowd in North Carolina on Tuesday, singling out the Democrat’s error on Monday where he called Super Tuesday ‘Super Thursday’.

Trump told the crowd: ‘Super Tuesday – not Super Thursday. Oh he said Super Thursday. You can’t do these things. Can you imagine if I said Super Thursday? It would be over, right?’

‘I honestly don’t think he knows what office he’s running for,’ Trump added.

If Biden becomes president ‘they’re going to put him into a home and other people are going to be running the country and they’re going to be super left radical crazies,’ he said.

Despite the blunder and unexpected guests, Biden had a strong Super Tuesday, sweeping seven of the 14 primaries and winning the endorsement of Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar who dropped out of the Democrats race this week.

Speaking at the podium for under 15 minutes before the polls closed in California, Biden credited his comeback to the quartet of big endorsements that saved South Carolina for him – and then helped him edge out Sanders Tuesday night.

‘We won Minnesota because of Amy Klobuchar,’ he said. ‘And we’re doing well in Texas because of Beto O’Rourke.’

He also gave a hat-tip to Pete Buttigieg, commending his ‘character, intellect and courage,’ even though the former South Bend mayor’s home state of Indiana didn’t vote Tuesday night.

He also went on to mention Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina. As the third most powerful Democrat in the House and the most powerful African-American lawmaker, Clyburn’s endorsement of Biden on Wednesday changed the race’s trajectory, as South Carolina voters cited it as a big factor in their choice.

On Sunday and Monday Klobuchar and Buttigieg cleared the way for Biden to consolidate support. And he picked up the bonus endorsement of O’Rourke who’s been out of the presidential race since November.
