Locky Gilbert takes a brutal swipe at Australia’s worst Bachelor Nick Cummins as he promises to pick a winner during his season

Locky Gilbert has taken a savage swipe at Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins while speaking about his new role as The Bachelor.

Speaking to Fifi, Fev & Byron on Wednesday, the Australian Survivor star alluded to the fact the ex-Wallaby player hadn’t chosen a winner in the 2018 season.

‘If I can’t find [love] out of 24 girls – sorry Honey Badger, you’re doing something wrong!’ he told the hosts, prompting much laughter.

Locky, 30, went on to clarify that he’s not contractually obliged to pick a winner, but he is determined to find love on The Bachelor.

‘I do form connections pretty well. I think I definitely will find someone,’ he said. ‘This is an amazing opportunity and I just can’t wait for it.’

Locky was announced as the new Bachelor overnight.

The announcement coincided with him being eliminated from Australian Survivor: All Stars on Tuesday night. (The show was filmed last year.)

He told The Daily Telegraph:’I am like a big teddy bear and I fall in love pretty quick.

‘If I have that excitement with someone, it is full steam ahead and before you know it I’m in love again.’

A potential love match will also need to deal with Locky’s bluntness, as the 6ft 4in athlete admits he’s as ‘subtle as a brick’.

Filming for The Bachelor is believed to have commenced last month, and will continue for 12 weeks until May.

The show will air on Channel 10 later this year but a premiere date has not been announced.
