Australian Survivor’s Harry Hills says we was at a weight loss ‘handicap’ in All Stars

‘It’s ridiculous!’ Australian Survivor’s Harry Hills says he was at a weight loss ‘handicap’ in All Stars since he only had six weeks between seasons to regain his strength

Harry Hills was voted out of Australian Survivor: All Stars on Wednesday night.

But on Thursday, the ice cream maker, 30, said could have gotten further if it wasn’t for his weight loss ‘handicap’ from competing in the previous season ‘Champions vs Contenders’ shortly before.

Although the seasons aired five months apart, filming for Champions vs Contenders ended on June 22 last year while filming for All-Stars began on August 26.

AFTER: After being eliminated from All Stars, Harry weighed 81kg. He said he was at a handicap during the season due to his weight loss

Speaking to News.com.au, Harry said he only had six weeks to regain his strength in between the season six and seven.

‘I played the game for seven weeks the first time and four weeks the second time, so it was really tough to actually get back to any kind of physical or mental ability (in between),’ he said.

‘I think I was really at a handicap the second time around.’

Prior to going on Champions vs Contenders, Harry said he weighed 96kg – but he lost a whopping 15kg in 49 days during filming.

In the weeks between filming, he said he was able to get back to 90kg but dropped down to 81kg once again during All Stars.

‘When you’re out there, it doesn’t actually feel like it’s (weight loss) really happening. When you finish and see your body in the mirror… it’s ridiculous,’ he said.

In addition to weight loss, Harry said Survivor also dramatically decreased his strength.

He could benchvpress 90kg before going on Champions vs Contenders but could only muster 20kg after placing third in the season.

Harry’s fatigue and weakness took it’s toll on Wednesday night episode when he was beaten by Brooke Jowett in a strength challenge for immunity.

The pair had to hold onto ropes connected to heavy idols while balancing on narrow pedestals and Brooke earned immunity, resulting in Harry being voted out.

Last season, Harry faced the same challenge and bowed out first, resulting in Pia Miranda winning the whole season.

After being voted out, Harry said he was ‘hoping for a crack’ in the Mokuta alliance.

‘I’d like to be remembered purely as a lovable villain, as an innovator, as someone who just loved the game and wanted to take it further,’ he said.

‘Definitely don’t have to be lovey-dovey, goody-goody if you want to win this game.’

Survivor: All-Stars continues 7:30pm Monday on Ten.
